New DLSS features for Nvidia GeForce gaming GPUs are as follows

latest version NVIDIA DLSS Just scaled down, simplifying the process of enabling resolution scaling on GeForce graphics cards. The new version, called DLSS 3.8.10, eliminates four presets and replaces them with two simplified options that combine all features.

Nvidia DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) is key to the success of Nvidia’s latest graphics cards, requiring an Nvidia GPU with Tensor Cores to run and delivering superior image quality to AMD FSR. In our testing, it can significantly increase frame rates in games that support it, and the latest version even improves visual effects, as we saw with DLSS 3.5 on Cyberpunk 2077, which uses Nvidia’s light Rebuild t3ech.

Bundled with the latest GeForce driver (566.14), it Reddit File size has been reduced. Most players won’t notice any differences though, as many of the changes are found behind the scenes.

To see which presets you are using, you need to activate the DLSS developer menu using a program like DLSSTweaks or another method. Newer games will use these updated presets when shipped with the necessary files, but games that don’t update will need to be modified manually.

3.8.10 Removed presets named A, B, C, and D and instead merged them into presets E and F, which handle every setting available in the game. Instead of dealing with performance, balance and quality, A focuses on reducing ghosting in motion, while C and D also work in the same space but work on frame information, which have been merged into E.

Preset F now handles ultra-performance mode instead of B, as well as the company’s anti-aliasing layer DLAA. There’s also a mysterious preset G, but it’s not being used and not much information is available other than some reports from last year that it would be exclusive to Unreal Engine 5.

Even today’s best graphics card models need help with a resolution upgrade. Recently, STALKER 2’s system requirements have been criticized for concealing that the game can only hit its target frame rate with upgrades enabled. Likewise, nearly all of the jaw-dropping results in the official benchmarks for the new AMD Ryzen 9 HX 370 APU were powered by FSR, the company’s GPU-agnostic alternative to DLSS.
